What is bi nerdle?

Bi nerdle (sometimes written “binerdle”) doubles the classic nerdle challenge. You’re given two 8-character equation grids side by side, and every guess you enter applies to both boards at the same time. You have 7 guesses to solve them both.

Each board shows its own colour-coded feedback:

  • Green – correct character in the correct position.
  • Purple – correct character, wrong position.
  • Grey – character not in that board’s solution.

Strategy tips

With only 7 guesses for two puzzles, you need to solve one in at most 6 to leave a guess for the other. Early on, try to pick guesses that give you useful information on both boards – a guess that turns mostly green on one board but mostly grey on the other is still progress.

Pay attention to which characters are confirmed or ruled out on each board separately. The two solutions are independent, so a digit that’s grey on one board might still appear in the other.

How does bi nerdle compare to Dordle?

Bi nerdle is essentially Dordle but with maths. Dordle is the two-board version of Wordle, where you solve two five-letter words at once; bi nerdle takes the same dual-grid mechanic and applies it to nerdle’s 8-character equations. The strategy is similar – pick guesses that give useful information across both boards – but with operators and digits instead of vowels and consonants.

If you enjoy Dordle, Quordle or other multi-grid wordle variants, bi nerdle is the natural number-puzzle equivalent. See our multi-grid math games page for an overview.

Want more (or less)?

If two boards at 8 characters feels too tough, try mini bi nerdle – two 6-character puzzles instead, the “mini Dordle” equivalent. If two isn’t enough, quad nerdle – the math Quordle – gives you four boards to solve at once, and octo nerdle – the math Octordle – takes it to eight boards in 10 guesses.
